HelpDuties Responds on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses.
Conducts a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition.
Makes an independent preliminary assessment of the patient's condition and selects from a variety of prescribed protocols the one which he considers appropriate under the given circumstances.
Prioritizes treatments for patient having multiple problems and employs a variety of established emergency medicine techniques, methods and equipment to the appropriate medical facility.
Performs thorough safety and maintenance inspections and minor repairs on emergency and patient transport vehicles and a variety of medical equipment.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
Immunization screening is required.
Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
You must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from, or in accordance with the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
A pre-placement medical examination is required.
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
This position requires a current certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) as EMT.
This position requires the completion of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Courses:
IS100, IS200, IS700 and IS800 for Emergency Medical Services within 6 months of entrance on duty.
This position requires the completion of the Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC) course within 6 months of entrance on duty, and annually thereafter.
You must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License issued by a State or territory of the United States.
This position requires rotating shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
This position is an Inclement Weather Essential position.
