Summary:
Provide subject matter systems safety support for system and subsystem development efforts at TAPO and MELB PM Office so that prudent steps are considered throughout the acquisition and development processes to ensure the safety of aircrews and aircraft passengers.
System Safety Support, Level 4
Responsibilities:
Provides senior technical expert level system safety support to the TAPO PM, MH-47 PM, MH-60 PM, and MELB PM.
Recognize, investigate, and assess potential aircraft safety hazards associated with all SOA MH-47, MH-60 and A/MH-6 helicopters.
Establish processes and procedures to ensure aircraft system safety is considered on a regular basis and that feedback from operational pilots is captured and acted upon.
Review, analyze, and interpret accident investigation reports and make recommendations as to potential risk mitigation efforts that could be implemented.
Plan, organize, execute, and document results of periodic and emergency aircraft system safety working groups (SSWG) for SOA MH-47, MH-60 and A/MH-6 helicopters.
Assist in gathering and analyzing accident investigation data, providing conclusions and recommendations.
Education and
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience working in military aviation safety is desired
Minimum of 5 years' experience developing and implementing safety programs for military aviation units is required.
Formal safety certification is required.
Master's degree in a safety related field is required.
Training and experience as military aircraft pilot is required.
Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required.
