Basic forecasters must have at least 5 years of aviation forecasting experience.
Supervisor forecasters must have at least 10 years of aviation forecasting experience with at least 5 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge of meteorology including meteorological methods, techniques, and practices, including weather observing, forecasting, communications, meteorological equipment and support procedures.
Skill in using various computer software and various applications. Specifically, the Air Force Weather Web Service (AFWEBS), the Mark IV-B satellite terminal, Target Acquisition Weather Software (TAWS), the Joint Environmental Toolkit (JET), Gibson Ridge Radar, NEXRAD Doppler Weather Radar interpretation, and other weather programs on .mil/gov sites. SOF-specific tactical weather equipment training will be provided to contractors as on-the-job (OJT) training as required.
Ability to measure meteorological phenomena with scientific equipment and instrumentation, and collect, analyze, interpret adjust, and verify atmospheric or other meteorological data to confirm and improve its accuracy and effectiveness.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with individuals and unit representatives.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to prepare and present guidance products, briefings, coordinate planning efforts, and manage program activities.
Ability to make timely operational weather decisions and select a course of action under high stress conditions associated with severe weather and emergency situations.
Take all required Air Force training on ADLS (Advanced Distributed Learning Service) or any required Army-specific computer based training upon arriving at duty station.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
